“Here hunts Heron. Here haunts Heron. Huge-hinged heron. Grey winged weapon. Eked from iron and wreaked from blue and beaked with steel: heron, statue, seeks eel.” ‘The Lost Words: A Spell Book’, a book by Robert Macfarlane sparked the inspiration for The Lost Words performance. The Intermediate group explored the poems through the excellent pieces from; Heron, Wren, Conker and Weasel. Each group took on a specific wonder and allowed their imaginations to soar as far as a Heron could. The group used their surroundings to connect with nature and whilst inviting members of the public inside, they inspired them to be involved with the performance and to absorb the natural beauties around them.
The group did an excellent job of bringing to life the poems using their bodies to take on the animals and objects, their voices to echo through the trees and their love for working in the great outdoors.
