What we offer

We love to develop bespoke projects that meet the needs of specific pupils in your school. We can work both inside and outside, provide tailored workshops, day-long events, arts weeks, or longer-term residencies. Growtheatre is an Artsmark Partner and can support your school as you go for Artsmark. We are also able to deliver Arts Award at both Bronze and Silver levels.

With a combination of drama, education and Forest School skills, our offer is unique:

Outdoor learning and Forest Schools (Artistic Director, Rachel Newman is Level 3 Forest School Practitioner)
Curriculum Development

We have often built and developed relationships between schools and their communities by working with young people and their families in school contexts, as well as working with children as they transition between primary and secondary school.

Drama to Teach Life Skills

This project focused on using drama to teach and embed life skills. Each of the schools involved was given the opportunity to shape the project so that it fitted both their children and their curriculum needs.

Bee Friendly

Growtheatre partnered with the New Start Centre at Hinde House Secondary School on a project to encourage pupils, all of whom had recently arrived in the UK, to work alongside community partners to create a wild flower trail in their community.

An Even Better Arbourthorne

A 4-year residency in the Arbourthorne Community facilitating teaching staff, parents and pupils to seek creative and lasting solutions to food poverty, low literacy levels, social isolation and the digital divide.

St Marie's Catholic Primary School, Sheffield

2-year Action Research residency, with a different focus in each year: Year 1 - drama and outdoor learning raising confidence and communication levels. Year 2 - Embedding creative, outdoor practice into the curriculum.
